My clients come to me because they are caught in a rut, whether it’s through a depressive episode, anxiety, spiritual and existential exploration, or major life transitions (separation, job loss, etc). Being truly heard and understood is the first step to healing and that is my primary goal. Through our work together, clients find themselves better able to identify and change unwanted patterns in their lives, and are able to understand and value themselves more as human beings. My clients leave therapy empowered with better self-awareness, acceptance and the proper tools to cope better in their lives.
Change is an inevitable part of life, and can leave us feeling hurt, angry, or afraid. With the help of a skilled therapist, we can learn how to navigate through life’s difficult times with greater patience, compassion, and peace.
I have been trained in mindfulness based approaches, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic theory. I consider an integrative model and adapt to what will work best.
Are you nervous and on edge constantly? Is your brain constantly working on over-drive, thinking of one thing and another? Do you wish you could turn these thoughts off and enjoy some peace of mind? Do you often have a sense of panic and doom?
Are you feeling like you’ve been stuck in a rut and can’t get out? Are you feeling defeated, discouraged or just plain empty? Have you been withdrawing from loved ones, or your hobbies, and feeling too drained to do anything? Are you often waking up feeling exhausted and dreading the day?
Are you concerned for your child’s well being? Have they undergone some major life transitions (ex. parents separation, relocation)? Are they having trouble adjusting at school? Play therapy is for kids, what talk therapy is for adults.
